There are moments in the creative process that simply cannot be planned.
If you’ve been following our journey for a while, you probably know there is nothing that excites me more than seeking out new fabrics. It’s a sensory experience. A fabric can catch your eye from across a crowded room, and you find yourself reaching for it instinctively. You unfold it, study the rich colours, feel the texture between your fingers, and immediately begin imagining the little girl who might wear it.
That is exactly how the story of our new Bella Dress began.
A Fabric That Stopped Me in My Tracks
Among countless swatches, rolls, and samples, this particular fabric stopped me completely.
It was the colours that first drew me in. They are soft yet vibrant, timeless yet full of life. Each shade seemed to tell its own quiet story, instantly sweeping me away to memories of warm summers in the garden, laughter-filled family celebrations, and those fleeting, precious moments of childhood that eventually become our most treasured keepsakes.
I knew instantly that this fabric deserved a truly special design—one that would let its unique character shine.
Letting the Fabric Take Centre Stage
When designing the Bella Dress, my goal was simplicity and elegance. I wanted the silhouette to frame and elevate the fabric rather than compete with it.
To achieve this, I chose a classic, timeless silhouette and paired it with delicate, thoughtful detailing. The beautiful ruffled collar and matching ruffled sleeves work together in perfect harmony, highlighting the whimsical charm of the print and showcasing exactly what made me fall in love with it in the first place.

What I love most about the Bella Dress is its effortless versatility. It is a piece designed to be lived in, laughed in, and played in.

Why We Do What We Do
As a designer, there are always certain pieces within a collection that hold a particularly special place in your heart. The Bella Dress is absolutely one of those pieces for me.
Designing it brought me right back to why I started Cute Couture in the first place: to create beautiful, high-quality clothes that celebrate childhood in its most precious, magical form.
